  4. wow!!! this is such a strong piece, Leni. I love everything about it, the texture of the canvas, the old-fashioned brown colors set against the modern turquoise, the sense of old family photo overlayed with modern perspective. It seems to ask who this man was, behind the mask. Was it his mask or the mask of your childhood eyes? Now as adults we see beneath. Fabulous.

    The work you do using old images is amazing. I love the mask on this one, makes me think of how children admire their older relatives and see them as superheroes sometimes.
